Accident to the Airbus AS350 registered C-GHEX on 11/05/2021 at les Escoumins

Preliminary data based on the notification from the Canadian authorities:

the pilot was conducting a slinging flight along a transmission line located 1.7 NM North of Les Escoumins, Quebec. While the aircraft was in flight, the tail rotor gearbox and the tail rotor separated from the helicopter. The pilot released the load and sling and was able to maneuver the aircraft to the ground where it landed hard. The emergency locator transmitter (ELT) was activated. The pilot was injured but was able to evacuate the aircraft.
