Accident to the Airbus EC120 registered C-FSII on 19/11/2018 at Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts [Investigation led by TSB / Canada]

Preliminary data based on the notification from the Canadian authorities:

C-FSII, a privately operated Airbus Helicopter EC 120B aircraft, was conducting a VFR flight from Rouyn-Noranda (CYUY), QC to Montreal/Mirabel Hélico, QC (CMH4) with only the pilot onboard. The aircraft reported passing Mont-Laurier, QC (CSD4) at 1200 EST, but never arrived at its destination. It was reported missing to Trenton Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) at approximately 1419 EST. JRCC deployed a Griffon helicopter and a C-130 Hercule aircraft in an attempt to locate the helicopter, no signal from the emergency locator transmitter was received. The helicopter was located the next day at approximately 1600 EST in a wooded area on the side of a hill. The aircraft sustained substantial damage and the pilot was deceased. There was no post-impact fire.
