C-GOOO, a Heli Explore Inc. Eurocopter AS 350 B2 was conducting long-lining operations in support of exploratory drilling operations. At the time of the occurrence the pilot was on second lift of the day. The pilot encountered an issue while flying at approximately 300 feet AGL which prompted him to jettison the load he was carrying, after which the helicopter descended quickly in a level attitude, before striking trees and then colliding with terrain.
