On returning from a VFR aerial photography flight of more than five hours, the aircraft found itself short of fuel. During the forced landing, the aeroplane collided with trees and then the ground. The pilot and the operator, sitting in the rear, were seriously injured.
Following this accident, the aeroplane operator has implemented several safety measures designed to prevent fuel exhaustion and limit injuries to occupants.
