Probable flight on the backside of the power curve after take-off, collision with vegetation
The pilot, at the controls of an aeroplane that was less powerful than the one he was used to flying, was carrying out a flight close to its maximum weight and in high temperatures. Although the climb performance was below that expected, the pilot took a steep nose-up attitude to the detriment of the acceleration to the climb speed. It is thus probable that he kept the flight in backside of the power curve conditions which he had not identified and flew in this part of the flight envelope until he was no longer able to stabilize level flight. The aeroplane collided with vegetation in an area of rising terrain without the pilot fully realising that his height had decreased.
