Preliminary data based on the notification from the United states authorities:
On July 25, 2019, at about 1305 local, Swiss International flight LX348, an A220-300, registration HB-JCM, experienced an engine failure of the left Pratt &Whitney PW1524G while climbing through flight level 320. The flight crew shut down the engine and diverted to Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG), Paris, France. Postflight examination of the engine revealed that the low-pressure compressor stage 1 rotor was missing.
None of the passengers and crew onboard were injured and the airplane received minor damage. The regularly scheduled passenger flight was operating from Geneva Airport (GVA), Geneva, Switzerland to London Heathrow Airport (LHR), London, United Kingdom.
In accordance with ICAO Annex 13, the National Transportation Safety Board accepted the delegation of this investigation from the French Bureau d'Enquêtes et d'Analyses pour la Sécurité de l'Aviation Civile.
