Serious incident to the Airbus A319 registered HC-CKN and operated by Avianca Ecuador on 23/12/2018 en route [Investigation led by JIA / Ecuador]

Preliminary data based on the notification from the Ecuadorian authorities:

During cruise, the pilot indicated that the aircraft suffered electrical problems: an initial failure of DC BUS 1 and 2, then AC BUS 2 failure and inmediatly a DC BAT BUS failure. He transmited a MAYDAY message and notified going back to Guayaquil. Due to the meteorological conditions in Guayaquil, the aircraft diverted to Manta Airport.
