Serious incident to the Airbus A320 registered N562AV operated by Avianca on 25/07/2022 at Argelia

Preliminary data based on the notification from the Colombian authorities:

According to operator’s initial statement, the aircraft was programmed to perform flight AVA9351 between Rionegro (SKRG) to Bogotá (SKBO) with 172 passengers and 6 crew. When the aircraft reach FL195 there was an explosion sound from the RH engine, inmediately, the aircraft made a sudden yaw to left and the crew made the emergency procedures.The APU and GEN 2 was differed at the time of the event. The crew declared emergency MAYDAY call to ATC and continue to SKBO landing at 13:51 UTC safely. In ground, there was evidences of some pieces of the Low Turbine blades on the exhaust cone. There was extensive damage of the Low turbines blades. The compressor blades did not move.
