Serious incident to the ATR 72 registered EC-KJA and operated by Swiftair on 04/06/2018 at Belgrade [Investigation led by AIB / Serbia]

Preliminary data based on the notification from the authorities of Serbia:
During maneuvering/last turn in approach descend for landing at airport Nikola Tesla, Belgrade, Serbia (BEG), flight of operator SwiftAir, SWT1276, CDG-BEG, at altitude of about 6.000ft AGL, crew detected vibrations. Vibrations lasted less than 1 minute and ceased just before completing turn for final in approach to BEG RWY30. Except two 1-seconds engine No. 1 fire warnings during final approach, crew did not notice any further problem. After uneventful landing and parking at apron at BEG, crew conducted walk-around check of airplane and found broken-off right/inner cover of left engine (No. 1), with most of given cover missing.
Airport authority conducted RWY and surrounding area sweep and did not find any airplane parts or FODs.On engine No. 1 (left), lower lock or locks of right/inner cover of engine got unlocked or broke-off during maneuvering for landing at Belgrade airport (BEG). Right/inner cover of engine 2 opened during flight resulting in separation of most of given cover, with light damages to engine systems.
