Serious incident to the Boeing 737 registered XA-AML operated by Servicio Tecnico Aereo on 02/05/24 during cruise (MEXICO)

Preliminary data based on the notification from the Mexico authorities:

During the climb of the aircraft when crossing 29,000 feet’s after departure from the Mexico City International Airport AICM, the flight crew heard a loud bang on the left side of the aircraft, which caused the engine No. 1 to stop, the crew declared on emergency the flight, returning to the departure airport, already in position, the technical personnel carried out the physical inspection on the engine, observing large blade residues in the exhaust section and all the turbine sections completely damaged.
