Accident to the Europa registered F-PHRC on 27/05/2023 at Montans

The pilot carried out a missed approach after having tried to land and exceeding his aiming point. During the missed approach, the aeroplane neither accelerated nor gained height. The examinations found that the control of the propeller pitch-change electric motor was faulty. This malfunction, not detected by the pilot, very probably prevented the propeller from changing to the full fine-pitch setting, thus degrading the aeroplane’s climb performance.

The pilot then lost control while manoeuvring at low height with a low speed and high-pitch attitude.
