Preliminary data based on the notification from the Belgian authorities:
The airplane was flying at 1300ft, en-route from EBZU to EBUL when, as the pilot reported, the airplane experienced a turbulent event, causing the break-up of the canopy.
The cockpit was exposed to the propeller blast. The pilot unsuccessfully tried to maintain control of the airplane and therefore decided to pull the Ballistic Recovery System.
The airplane descended under the parachute and landed, nose first in an Urban area of Bruges.
