The flight crew received an ECAM message indicating an "ENG 1 EPR MODE FAULT". The applicable ECAM procedures were carried out in accordance with the QRH/ECAM instructions. The flight crew decided to return to base as a precautionary measure and subsequently the aircraft landed without incident.
