Serious incident to the Dassault Falcon 20 registered F-GPAD on 24/03/2026 near Kecskemét (Hungary)

Engine malfunction during climb, engine no. 2 shut down, turned back, in icing conditions

Preliminary data based on the notification from the Hungarian authorities:

During a NATO military exercise, while climbing through FL110 to FL130, the aircraft encountered icing conditions.
After selecting engine 1 anti ice and ignition ON, the engine experienced a loud bang, momentarily shut down, and immediately relit. Shortly afterwards, still during the climb, the crew selected engine 2 anti ice ON. Approximately five seconds later, engine 2 suffered a loss of power accompanied by compressor stall symptoms, before shutting down. The crew performed the applicable In Flight Engine Trouble checklist, anounce a PAN PAN call on radio, and returned to the departure airfield without further incident.
