Sudan Airways flight 109, an international passenger flight departed Damascus (Syria) to Khartoum (Sudan) with 214 persons on board including 11 crew. The flight diverted to Port Sudan (Sudan) due to bad weather at Khartoum. The flight continued to Khartoum later that night. The weather was poor with thunderstorm and rain over Khartoum.
