During climb, the crew detected abnormal engine indications and airframe vibrations. the crew reduced the left engine power setting to idle and the aircraft returned to brisbane. The engineering inspection revealed two engine blades missing from the No. 1 engine and severe impact to the remaining blades. The engine was subsequently replaced.
